Solution Two ~ Loft Space Studio Dividers

Hollywood or the character Jim Ignatiowsky from Taxi can be credited with this next design. I at one time needed a very large flat and yet smooth table to stretch canvas on top of, a very large canvas. I wondered what two hollow-core doors would do I I merely assembled them with their own hinges and lay them so that each hinge was stopped in opening by the other door. It not only worked that time but stood up on its own reliably until someone bumped into it with a load of construction tools in hand (That being myself.) Combined with a few more doors in this concept with a long uni-strut that electricians use to fasten boxes onto ceilings and walls one can imagine a screen that would not topple over, and that anyone could take apart merely by pulling the hing pins out. When I worked as an industrial painter we actually used to spray paint an entire house full of doors in its garage by screwing a garage door stay onto the top, with another couple used as rails for blow-by room which they sat upon.

It should be noted that these have had a partial door added onto the top to make them a total of nine foot tall. These, though simpler and less costly to effect a separation and a modicum of privacy are the secure way to improve the space. I just thought I should present this idea as a baseline option that doesn't require a skilled tradesman to take down or move.
