This is a design for a chessboard that I've been working on, off and on since 1989. It is articulated vertically in 1/8" steps and arches out towards the corners with each column and row. I previously made a model out of matt-board that did the same with the steps at only 1/16". My plan here is to machine black and white marble and then epoxy them all together. The next trick is to present them suspended in glass or transparent plastic.
I found myself suddenly devoid of any chair design and thus went ahead and designed one today to accommodate my chess board setting.
