A Study on Space Use ~ Basement Art Gallery
A previous study that I made on this subject featured a basement space of aproximately 1,500 square feet. With the possibility of converting space previously reserved for dry storage I've had to re-assess; tear down a couple walls in a virtual sense in order to envision how it could best be utilized. Here is what I came up with:
This dry storage area still has three rows of fluorescent lights hanging at a height that gives one the impression that maybe additional sorting of mail was done down there also. I have taken them out here for clarity. The small red boxes feature single outlets which could easily power contemporary LED lamps. I've added some people silhouettes from the Google Sketchup warehouse which are positioned to face from the camera no matter where it is positioned. In this case they give the impression of art viewers somewhat.A few others are facing the camera literally. I've attempted to add the choice of color that the landlord picked. I'm in the process of re-mediating some of the surfaces as best one can without spending a lot of time on them. I did time an unconventional method and it took a full hour longer to do the same amount of surface than the conventional method.
