The Large Store Front Door
Having acquired enough oak 2-3/8" thick oak to rebuild a large store front I have set to sketching it out here. The presently used door is 3',10" wide, but is actually a paralellogram in shape. With good sketches between existing and proposed I can plot what will have to be done. The final sizing arives at 3'9" wide, after finding the door jamb 11/16" out of plum in six feet. The trim will have to be temporarily removed, along with the outer security storm door in order find some kind of compromise to bring the out of plum nature to somewhere between 5/16" and 3/8". The gap will be 1/8" and the vertical door stop will have to be made wide enough to compensate.
In the process of trying to illustrate this I have found a method of making a creative background out of a blueprint made translucent with a white background behind that.
