A Better Landing for the Back Door

After finishng a wooden door frame adaptation to hang a storm door that was for a brick opening that was quite a bit out of plumb it is onto making a better landing for it.

I envision it having access in two directions. Nothing is set in concrete yet so the handrail could be moved to the left side out of the swing of the door.
