A Modest Return to Roof Solutions ~My House

With so little time at the library I'll go ahead and just upload these.
I've been studying this I don't know how long by now. With each effort I either scrap fixing my house up or try modest proposals to fix a couple bad areas. This is one of the later.

The version to the left is an approximation of existing. I would effect a rise in ceiling height to eight foot and create one singular plane from the ridge plus a couple feet.

I would add on to the east side of my house creating a porch and different entrance under a timber-frame portico. The rock masonry would have more of an angle to it but they would be taken from local resources of rounded boulders. The timbers I suppose would be Fir instead of Ponderosa. The timber that I peeled from one of mine to put my mailbox on has already rotted after only a few years.

This approximates my west side. I will do away with the porch.
